At Maranatha, we’re convinced that every member has a ministry – a role in which God has uniquely gifted them to serve. Here are some places where you might be able to plug in:
Maranatha's Outreach Ministry seeks to show Christ's love in practical ways to the Taylor neighborhood and seeks to share the gospel of Christ with those whom we serve (1st John 3:18 & 23). Events are held throughout the year including: neighborhood socials, a mitten drive, handing out VBS invitations, a school supply drive, pen pals with an elementary classroom, Good News Club, community leaf raking, trunk or treat, delivering Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas caroling, and adopting a family for Christmas. We seek to show the love of Christ in both word and deed to those in our neighborhood. Some individuals may never have attended church before or feel uncertain about coming on a Sunday morning; this is our opportunity to reach outside the walls of our building and meet practical needs while spreading encouragement and the gospel. Please contact Amy DeLay at email@example.com if you are interested in getting involved with our Outreach Ministry.
The meals ministry is designed to assist an individual and/or family when a need arises related to an illness, surgery, birth, death, or any personal crisis. Meals are provided by the church body until the family is once again able to manage. Because each need for assistance is unique, there is no designated number of meals set for any given circumstance. Please contact Heidi Moore at firstname.lastname@example.org
With the blessing of our new building comes the task of maintaining that building as a witness to God's provision and a place to do ministry. As a definite plan of weekly upkeep is developed there will be a need for people to do light cleaning - floor sweeping, fingerprints off of windows, etc. If you are willing to be part of a team that would serve in this manner, call the church office.
